The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Abbottabad has the authority to conduct annual and supply examinations of Matric and Intermediate classes in the districts of Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, and Kohistan.
All public and private schools and colleges in these districts are affiliated to BISE Abbottabad while thousands of regular and private students from these districts participate in the annual examinations of SSC and HSSC under the Abbottabad Board.

Examinations have been delayed this year due to the spread of the coronavirus epidemic. BISE Abbottabad has administrative authority to conduct, regulate and control examinations and SSC and HSSC levels. The board is affiliated with a number of institutions and is responsible for conducting annual examinations for registered students. The Abbottabad Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education was established in 1990.
Areas under the jurisdiction of BISE Abbottabad include Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Bagram, and Kohistan. The Board was divided into BISE Peshawar and was constituted under the Intermediate and Secondary Education Act, 1990. Every year many regular and private candidates appear for the Matriculation and Intermediate examinations conducted by the Board.
