National Defense University (NDU) Islamabad Merit Lists 2022

Two major courses are taught at the university, with a combat course focusing on military strategy, and a broader national defense course covering strategic and socio-economic issues. The two courses are combined into the National Security and War Course (NSWC) over a 48-week period on an annual basis. So far, 3,061 participants have graduated from the National Defense University, including 469 officers from 29 friendly countries and 570 participants from national security workshops. Today, the NDU trains both military officers and civilians. An officer can be nominated as a general only after graduating from NDU.

The University’s mission is to prepare future leaders from Pakistan’s public and private sectors and friendly countries to focus on multidisciplinary academic and research programs, professional exchanges and outreach, security, and modern sciences. According to the university’s vision, the NDU, as a hub for academic and research activities in a variety of fields, will provide well-thought-out information on national security at the policy/strategy level, in an independent, open and critical manner. National Defense University NDU Islamabad is a publicly funded military institution based in Pakistan. The cause of the investigation will promote scientific debate in the service of society.

The NDC’s permanent building was then built where the college would be for the next 25 years. Major General Abdul Hameed Khan was the first Commandant of SQA, NDC, while Brigadier Muhammad Ahmed, SJ, was the Chief Instructor. The first Army War Course was started on May 1, 1963, under the auspices of Army Staff College, Quetta. As the number of participants increased after 1965, to meet the need for a separate institution, the National Defense College (NDC) was established on 28 May 1970 in Lalkorti, Rawalpindi, in the old building of the National Assembly.

In 1971, the Army War Course was renamed as ‘Armed Forces War Course’, later in 1975. Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto ordered the affiliation of the college with the Federal University of Islamabad (Quaid-e-Azam University), where the degree of M.Sc. On August 14, 1995, the college was shifted to a newly constructed building in Islamabad. However, the NDC was upgraded to university level in 2007 and the War College has renamed the Armed Forces War College within the university.

After completing the online form, the candidate should submit the hard copy of the form along with the processing fee and required documents to the admission office NDU E-9 Islamabad by courier or by hand. The submitted entry form will be checked at the Admissions Office and an e-mail generated from the system will be sent to the applicant through whom the account was created. The online admission system is opened on the NDU website after the advertisement for the relevant session in the local newspapers. To apply, the candidate must create a login ID with a valid email address. The system-generated login and password are sent to the applicant’s email, through which they are logged into the online admission system. The applicant has to appear in the entrance test and interview as per the schedule advertised in the newspaper.
